REDDITCH United have signed James Mutton on loan from Hednesford Town.

Mutton will spend a month at The TRICO, and the defender is eligible for today's Evo-Stik Southern Premier clash with Kings Langley (3pm KO).

The central defender began his career as a trainee at Birmingham City, before stints with Coleshill Town and Stratford Town. In 2013, he signed for Redditch and earned a reputation as an uncompromising and no-nonsense centre-back during his time with the club.

After a four-year spell, Mutton left Redditch in May 2017 to join Hednesford Town; however, he has temporarily rejoined The Reds and will add competition to boss Tim Harris' squad.

He said: "I am absolutely delighted to have eventually signed James, as over the last few seasons I have previously tried to obtain his services. Not only is he a local lad, but he is a solid defender who will certainly add to what we have available."
