REDDITCH United boss Tim Harris has praised the commitment of his players since he took charge at the Trico Stadium.

The Reds lost 1-0 away to Dorchester Town last Saturday as they failed to build on their impressive win over Farnborough the week before.

However, Harris is determined to take the positives from the defeat and was quick to highlight the effort his players are have put in as the club looks to rebuild after the departure of previous manager Darren Byfield.

He said: "It was a very committed performance from the lads. They worked extra hard and I felt they should have got something out of the game.

"That is the big frustration but Dorchester have had some big results at home recently so It's not a bad performance by any means.

"You have to take the positives and the one thing I can't fault is the effort the lads have put in."

United are due to take on Banbury at home on Tuesday night before welcoming Kings Langley to the Trico this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Harris admits that his squad needs strengthening and says he's looking for the right players to come in.

"It was great to put some smiles on faces again with the win over Farnborough and we want to try and build on that again," he added.

"But we are light on the ground at the moment and that is something we have to put right. We need two or three players to help us find a bit more consistency.

"We have a few young players at the club but I think they may need to go out to get more game time.

"The big positive above everything is the commitment everyone is showing at the moment."

Marcel Simpson and Myles Phipps both missed the Dorchester defeat but should be back in contention this week.
