Redditch United 0, Coalville Town 1

Redditch slumped out of the FA Trophy, falling at the first hurdle against Evo-Stik Premier side Coalville.

The only goal of the game came 14 minutes from time when a pin-point pass from Blair Anderson sent Nathan Watson in on goal and he produced a neat finish to place his shot beyond keeper Ethan Ross.

Boosted by the goal, the visitors would have added to their tally after the break had it not been for the Reds keeper who did well to keep out a well-struck Watson shot on 80 minutes before palming away a shot from Anderson four minutes from time.

Redditch looked good in midfield with Danny Jackman and Andi Thanoj again impressing but too often they struggled to break through the excellent Coalville defence.

The pick of the home chances came just after the hour when Dior Angus forced a decent diving save from Jamie Hannis. Angus did have the ball in the net soon after only for the effort to be chalked off for offside.

There hadn’t been much to shout about in a disappointing first half which only came to a simmer on the half-hour when Coalville skipper Steve Towers got his head to corner which Ross did well to push over the bar.
