UNLUCKY Feckenham crashed out of this season's Les James Challenge Cup after losing 1-0 against a GNP Sports side who currently sit top of Midlands League Division Three.

Feckenham fired against the crossbar on no less than three occasions but couldn't find the goal to secure their passage into the next round.

Jordan Hartley had a first half chance cannon off the crossbar while new signing Nick Briggs blasted narrowly wide from a free kick after fellow debut player Robbie Davies had been brought down.

Feckenham failed to make their persistent pressure pay when Briggs then headed a Jack Brimmell cross against the woodwork just before half time.

Sports came more into the game as the second half progressed and broke the deadlock when Connell Farrell broke clear and looped his goalbound effort over shotstopper Josh Goddard.

Feckenham must have realised it wasn't going to be their day when Hartley hammered a shot against the underside of the crossbar before it was frantically cleared off the line.

Depleted Feckenham were missing a host of key players but refused to use their absence as an excuse.

Boss Aaron Blackwood said: "To a man, they'd given me everything they could, but unfortunately we've come up short against a side who are in very good form."

Feckenham travel to face Droitwich Spa this Saturday in a Midland League Division Two match.
