ASTWOOD Bank thirds were involved with a real humdinger of a game with top of the table Himbleton in Worcester County League Division Three.

The league leaders squeezed home with just two balls to spare after being set a revised target to chase following rain.

Jim Prescott had earlier plundered 61 not out and together with Paul Boycott, who finished on 29 not out, shared an unbeaten stand of 90 for the sixth wicket.

They helped the Bank post a total of 222 for five, Andy Clayton cracking a further 41, wicketkeeper Jake Browning 23, while Dave Price was run out for 25.

Having lost their first wicket with just one run on the board, Himbleton recovered to reach 100 for two through Rich Sugden and Alistair Pretty who provided 35.

Sugden stayed to the end to score 96 not out while Rob Perrins kept him company on 37 not out as Himbleton reached their revised target of 219 inside 43 overs, but it was close.

Himbleton eventually totalled 222 for six from 42.4 overs to cement top spot.
