RAMPANT Redditch Entaco reeled off a five wicket win over strugglers Droitwich Spa to go 13 points clear on top of Worcester County League Division One.

Redditch restricted the Spa side to 191 for nine from their full 50 overs before knocking off the required runs to reach a winning 192 for five with 28 balls to spare.

Once again skipper Russ Southwick led from the front by firing 75 off 90 balls, taking his total to 657 this season, making him the second highest scorer behind Bewdley's Rob Coombes.

But it was the bowlers who set up the victory with Ghulam Moyhuddin grabbing figures of four for 26.

Droitwich had to thank Max Young for saving them from a much heavier defeat as he struck a sparkling 88 not out.

But Southwick said: "We should have got him out earlier and rolled Droitwich out for much less.

"We've been having to rely on our bowlers this season and Ghulam bowled very well, he was spot-on. But our batting has improved as well and is really coming together."

Redditch's title credentials will be put to the test this Saturday when they travel to Feckenham for a local derby.

They will be missing key batsman Greg Chinn who has dislocated his shoulder.

Sothwick added: "It's a loss, but the system is now structured that they are players coming through. We hope to have Greg back before the end of the season."
