FABULOUS Feckenham despatched rivals Droitwich Spa by an emphatic 102 run margin to help cement sixth place in Worcester County League Division One.

Wicketkeeper Will Davies marked his 20th birthday with a marvellous score of 137 as Feckenham piled on the runs to reach 267 for eight.

Danny Bloomer with 34 and Josh Stacey on 37 played important supporting roles before helping to reduce Droitwich for 165 all out in reply.

It was without doubt Davies' finest innings since joining Feckenham from Pershore three years and the first time he has reached a century.

Feckenham spokesman Luke Jackson claimed: "Will is one of the best wicketkeeper's in the Worcester County League and travels from Bath University to play for us. His century certainly put the seal on his birthday!

"But he also took a wonderful catch as well to remove Droitwich's overseas player Jordan Renau."

Medium pace bowler Matt Henning and off-spinner Josh Stacey both helped themselves to three wickets despite a determined effort from Max Young who made 52 before falling victim to another fantastic catch from Feckenham's New Zealand player Travis Bartels.

Feckenham face a real test this week when they entertain top of the table Worcester CC but must wait to see whether opening bowler Tom Coulson can shake off an injury problem.
