REDDITCH reeled off an easy six wicket win over Stourbridge side Pedmore in Worcester County League Division One this week.

Strike bowler Waqas Ali picked up six of the best by taking six for 34 off 9.5 overs as Pedmore's batting plummeted to 106 all out in the 26th over.

Fellow medium pace bowler Noman Chaudhry chipped in with two for 19 off five overs as Pedmore's total fell well short.

Redditch opening bats Rizwan Chaudhry and Gregg Chinn then raced to a 70 run opening partnership to virtually put the issue beyond doubt before Ghulen Moyhuddin struck a belated 22 not out.

Delighted Redditch skipper Russell Southwick said: "Waqas Ali bowled really well and kept to a consistently good line.

"Then in reply, we hit two fours in the first over which immediately set the tone for the innings as we knocked off the runs in 21 overs to reach a winning 108 for four.

"It was that quick that we had to wait for tea until the end of the game."

Redditch can expect a much tougher test this Saturday when they visit early season leaders Worcester CC but Southwick added: "We've got a really good side at the moment and we will go to Worcester full of confidence."
