DELIGHTED Studley boss Keith Draper declared the season couldn't have ended any better as his side eclipsed Coventry Copsewood 2-1 to lift the Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup.

Two dramatic last gasp Danny Dineen diving headers secured Studley the trophy.

Draper said: "Securing our survival in the Midland League Division One was always the priority, but winning this trophy was the icing on the cake. I couldn't have asked for anything more and I didn't want the season to end."

It was the third time Draper had reached this final having previously been in charge of Bartley Green.

He added: "Copsewood are a very tall side and they put us under pressure in the first half with their long ball tactics.

"We changed matters after half time and got the ball down. As a result, we looked the better side.

"Josh Westwood hit the post but then 30 seconds later, Copsewood broke upfield and we found ourselves 1-0 down.

"Jack McGinn then hit the post but we had to wait until the 88th minute when Danny Dineen netted at the far post from a corner - it was the first header we'd won all game.

"Then in the 90th minute, we won another corner and exactly the same thing happened. Unbelievable!"

Draper is optimistic about keeping all of his players for next season and insists: "They all deserve the chance to see what we can do after surviving a relegation fight. I'm confident with the squad of players we have, we can go forwards."

It will prove a busy summer at Studley's Beehive with new floodlights set to erected later this month, while a new kit sponsorship deal is in the pipeline.
