EXCELLENT Alcester recorded a half century of points for the sixth time this season as they put Pershore to the sword with a 65-21 scoreline to stay top of Midland Division 4 West South.

Alcester ran in 10 tries as they took another step towards promotion with just two games left remaining this season.

Full back Oscar Holland started the try-spree while winger Lewis Walker went onto secure a hat-trick with man of the match Phil Birks adding another.

Skipper Jack Green also got in on the try-scoring act with two more, one of them following a length of the pitch score, with scrum half Robbie Parker and flanker Ben Hope also getting in on the act.

However, the try of the game went to replacement prop Kyran Flynn who forced his way over from the 22 metre line after taking an off-load from hat-trick man Walker.

Conversions were shared between Josh O'Connor, Matt Ashby and Max Biltcliffe who also added his side's only penalty shot.

Alcester require one more bonus point victory to be certain of second spot and promotion but still remain reliant on others if they are to finish the season as champions with second placed Bromyard in a position to overtake them with a game in hand.
