STUDLEY have booked their place in the Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup final after eclipsing Midland League One rivals Cadbury Athletic 2-0 at the second attempt.

The original fixture had to be abandoned late in the game due to a serious injury sustained by one of Cadbury's players when Studley were leading.

But Studley made sure second time around thanks to goals from Luke Dugmore and Josh Westwood.

They will now meet either Coventry Copsewood or Nuneaton Griff in the final at a venue yet to be named.

Studley were without a league fixture on Saturday and remain second from bottom in the table as fellow strugglers Pershore Town, Pelsall Villa and Stafford Town all picked up points.

However Studley hope to make up ground this week when they host Heath Hayes before visiting Bolehall Swifts this Saturday.

Studley boss Keith Draper said: "We're in the driving seat as we've got games in hand over our rivals.

"But we're playing with confidence and character at the moment.

"The arrival of Aaron and Josh Westwood has given us real pace down the flanks, with Josh scoring in every game he's played so far.

"Matt Dorgan is also getting amongst the goals which means we're not having to rely on leading scorer Gareth Evans all the time."

Studley also have their eyes set on further silverware as they are due to face either Littletons or Bewdley Town in the semi-final of the Worcestershire Senior Urn.
