IMPRESSIVE Alcester went on a seven try scoring spree to beat Droitwich seconds 45-10 after their proposed Midland League Division Four West South contest with Keresley was called off owing to an unfit pitch.

After falling behind to an early try, Alcester finally got their act together and went into a 12-5 lead by half time thanks to a couple of tries from fly half Josh O'Connor and winger Alex Chiles,with O'Connor adding a conversion.

Alcester proved unstoppable in the second half with their pack taking charge.

Flanker Ben Hope went onto complete a hat-trick of tries while winger Lewis Walker and teenage centre Jamie Harland completed the scoring spree, with O'Connor going onto convert five of the seven tries.

Alcester return to league action this Saturday when they entertain Kings Norton at their Kings Coughton ground with kick off at 3pm.

With last Saturday's game at Keresley called off, Bromyard have now gone back on top of the table with Stoke Old Boys third, the three sides separated by just two points with five games left to play.

Alcester's second XV lost out to Evesham 35-19 while the Colts deflated Dunlop by a 54-7 margin after running in eight tries, Cian Allan leading the charge with a hat-trick of tries, one of which saw him race 90 metres to score.
