REDDITCH Kingfishers romped to a 20-14 victory at Coventry side Keresley to ease their position near the bottom of Midlands 4 West South.

Poor weather made sure fluent rugby was at a premium but Redditch went onto to have the better of first half exchanges and build a 10-0 lead at half time thanks to a try from Will Ballion which Sam Gladwin converted and then added a penalty.

Keresley responded after the interval with a converted try but Redditch resumed command to go 13-7 in front following another Gladwin penalty.

But Keresley refused to lie down and slowly exerted control to take the lead with another converted try.

Redditch responded well and following a long sustained spell of pressure by their forwards, Gladwin went over for a try which he converted himself to seal victory.

The Kingfishers have a local derby on their hands this Saturday when they entertain Kings Norton.
