STUDLEY snapped up a 4-0 success over Midland League Division One whipping boys Southam to climb out of the bottom two.

Josh Westwood struck twice with Matt Dorgan and Gareth Evans also on target in a game Studley totally dominated.

Studley boss Keith Draper said: "We missed numerous chances while Southam's goalkeeper Harry Gardiner pulled off two or three top class saves. Yes, we should have scored more and I could sense the tension.

"But in truth, I would have taken a 1-0 win prior to the game. It was just important to get the three points."

Draper brought in Birmingham County FA goalkeeper Bradley Carter, who is on loan from Alvechurch and the young shotstopper pulled off a wonderful save early in the game when he pushed a goalbound shot round the post.

Draper added: "It was Southam's only real chance throughout the entire game. It was also our first clean sheet of the season."

The only downside for Studley was the fact fellow strugglers Stafford Town and Chelmsley Town also won and remain just above in the league table.

Studley travel to mid-table side Coventry Copsewood this Saturday.
