ALCESTER Town player-manager Danny Janes rang the changes this week and the move worked a treat as they pulled off a 2-0 win at Midland League Division Three strugglers Boldmere Sports and Social.

Janes drafted in new signings Fabian Connolly and Myles Jones while James Cund returned to the starting line-up following a long term injury.

Alcester started to take charge as half time approached and took the lead when Boldmere's goalkeeper failed to hold Matt Layton's corner which finally resulted with an own goal.

Boldmere became increasingly stretched as the second half progressed before Alcester added a second goal when Josh Moore beat the full back and squared the ball back for substitute Marc Grogan to slot home.

Alcester entertain AFC Solihull at Stratford Road this Saturday in another Midland League match.
