REDDITCH Rugby Club were robbed of victory when rivals Harbury landed a penalty with the last kick of the match to claim a 14-14 draw in Midlands Four South West Division match.

Harbury opened the scoring with a penalty before Redditch began to assert.

Barry Foster-Smith made a storming 60 metre run which enabled Redditch to camp close to Harbury's line.

Player-coach Simon Fitzpatrick was then held up on the line, but from the resulting scrum, Jack Duffy was illegally prevented from scoring and Redditch were awarded a penalty try from which Sam Gladwin converted.

Harbury reduced the deficit with a second penalty kick before Redditch began applying the pressure again.

With Harbury reduced to 14 players following a yellow card, Jack Duffy again picked up from a scrum and drove for the line, but this time Garth Davies was up in support to score with Gladwin again adding the conversion.

Redditch led 14-6 into the second half which was to prove a poor affair with both sides making plenty of errors.

Harbury managed to break through for an unconverted try to make the score 14-11 before their last gasp penalty prevented Redditch from picking up four valuable points.

Redditch have no fixture this weekend.
