STUDLEY were sent crashing back down to earth this week following their Birmingham Floodlit Cup success over in-form Cradley Town when humbled 5-1 by Midland Division One title chasers Hinckley AFC.

Experienced Studley boss Keith Draper said: "We were outclassed. We competed very well in the first half and clawed it back to 2-1 by half time thanks to another goal from Gareth Evans.

"But Hinckley are one of the best footballing sides I've come across at this level and I have to admit in the second half, they were very good. Sometimes you just have to put your hand up and admit you were beaten by a better side.

"We're in a relegation fight at the moment, but we'll be ok providing we can beat the teams around us.

"It's been something of a baptism of fire. Since I've taken over we've played all the top sides with Bromsgrove Sporting to come on Boxing Day."

Draper is already looking forward to facing one of of his former clubs and said: " All sentiment will go out of the window against Bromsgrove and I want to be the first team to beat them this season.

"I've picked my team already and have told my players just how important the game is."

Kick-off on Boxing Day at the Beehive is at 11-30am.

Studley then return to the Beehive on New Year's Eve when they entertain Cadbury Athletic.
