REDDITCH welcome back Rizwan and Noman Choudry as they look to bounce back from Saturday’s 80-run derby loss to Feckenham at title rivals Chaddesley Corbett.

The Kingfishers saw their lead at the top of the Worcestershire County League Division One cut to 13 points, which makes Saturday’s clash at Longmore of potentially pivotal importance.

Batsman Rizwan Choudry and brother Noman, who opens the bowling, are set to return for the big game.

Saturday’s clash is the second game in a defining triple bill for Redditch, who also tackle fourth-placed Coombs Wood on September 13.

Redditch spokesman Gary Fisher said: “This is a big game for us after losing to Feckenham.

“Luckily Noman and Rizwan, who are important players for us, are back in the side.

“This was only our second defeat of the season, so the team remains confident.”

In a thrilling derby display, it was in-form Feckenham who impressed with the bat and ball.

The Millers had won the toss and made 303 all out in 49.5 overs.

Redditch had made the early breakthrough when Luke Jackson was dismissed by Waqas Ali for a duck.

But the away side demonstrated strong depth in batting as Daniel Bloomer (61), Jamie Griffiths (64), Williams Davies (20), Josh Stacey (76), Matt Henning (16) and Jamie Reddish (29) among the runs.

Redditch’s reply got off to a particularly shaky start and were reduced to 32-5 as bowlers Tom Coulson (3-26) and Matt Henning (4-55) caused havoc.

But Dan Protherough (82) and Sam Egan (43) put on an 89-run stand before the latter was caught by Coulson.

Ali also chipped in with 28 but it was too little too late as Redditch fell 80 runs short on 223.

Feckenham are at home to Worcester Dominies on Saturday (1pm start).
