STUDLEY boss Kevin Kingham is hoping to nail down some of last season's key men when the player registration period starts today.

Clubs cannot officially sign players until July 1 and the Bees boss is hoping that the previous campaign's fans' player of the season Gary Turner and top goal-scorer Dan Stokes commit to the club.

Captain Dave Edwards is another player Kingham is keen to retain and he was set to talk to him this weekend.

Kingham said: "Until the registration period starts it's not really possible to say who has and hasn't agreed to stay.

"I want to keep lots of the players from last season but we don't have as big a budgets as some clubs and I don't want to alert them to some of our targets."

Studley have lost midfielder Robbie Bunn, who is set to sign on the dotted line for Midlands Division One rivals Bromsgrove Sporting.

Training was set to start on Saturday with the club having organised a testing set of fixtures.

They start at Long Buckby AFC on Saturday, July 9 (3pm ko), followed by Whitnash on the Beehive's 3G pitch on July 12 (6.30pm ko).

Studley take on Coventry Sphinx at home on July 16 and entertain Coventry United three days later (7.30pm ko).

Bedworth Town are next at home on Saturday, July 23 (3pm ko) followed by Cradley Town seven days later (3pm ko) and Black Country Rangers on Tuesday, August 2.

Studley have applied to play in the FA Cup, which starts on August 6, but if they are not successful they will arrange a final pre-season game.

Kingham added: "We've started a week later but this will be a very tough set of pre-season fixtures to make sure we're ready for the league."
