IMPRESSIVE Redditch stretched their unbeaten run in the Worcestershire County League Division Two with a 78-run victory over Bredon.

The table-toppers notched up a fifth win in six games and were inspired by skipper Gregg Chinn.

The captain won the toss and opened the batting effectively as he made 102.

When he was dismissed by Martin Hill, the Kingfishers were 244-6 but Noman Choudry added late runs with 37 as Redditch reached 311-8.

Redditch dismissed their opponents for 233 in 46 overs, with three wickets each for Noman and Rizwan Choudry and one each for Sam Egan for Tom Field.

The table-toppers are at home to Worcester Dominies on Saturday (1pm start).

Alvechurch and Hopwood lost to second-placed Chaddesley Corbett by four wickets after being dismissed for 141 before their rivals made 142-6 in 35 overs. Church are at home to Coombs Wood on Saturday (1pm start).

In Warwickshire League Premier, Studley edged Ambleside by one wicket. The Bees skittled Ambleside for 142 with Luke Deeprose taking five wickets and replied with 143-9 in 43 overs, with Brandon Miller (37) on form.

They tackle Highway Spartans away from home on Saturday (1pm start).
