WHITE Hart's Sunday B team are joint early-season front runners in Division Four of the Northfield and District League after a thrilling two-shot victory over Black Horse, the team they share the top spot with.
Wins for Gill Croft (21-13) and Kirk Wright (21-10) gave the Redditch club a solid start before Tim Hollingshead won 21-7 and Paul Matthews then sealed the victory with a 21-11 card to make the final scoreline 127-125.
White Hart are also current leaders in both Divisions One and Three of the Heart of England Over-60s League.
The A team defeated local rivals Alcester A for the second week running in the top flight, with captain Mike Estell leading the way winning 21-10.
Other victories for Ray Richards (21-11), Graham Arnott (21-12), Tom Hawks (21-18) and Stephen Turner (21-20) gave them a 118-92 scoreline.
The B team found little opposition from Weoley Castle W.M.C in Division Three, easily defeating them 126-50 at home.
Single figure cards from Mick Perrins and Norman Batchelor (both 21-4) plus Ken Brown and captain Brian Chatterley (both 21-6) were backed up by Anne Batchelor (21-17) and Sheila Humphreys (21-13).
White Harts team in Division Five of the prestigious Warks. and Worcs. Saturday League tasted defeat at Solihull Marsh Lane where their main highlight was a fine individual win for Stuart Rice. A high-quality match saw the White Hart player edge out a very tough opponent 21-20
