A GOAL in stoppage-time denied Alcester a point when Barton United struck late in Midlands Division Three.
With six games remaining, Alcester drop to seventh but are only two points off third.
They suffered a setback when captain Mark Briggs pulled up with a recurrence of his hamstring injury.
Alcester took the lead when Keiran Downey scored with a 40-yard effort. Peter Martin pulled one back for Barton before their skipper George Stack wriggled through two challenges and poked home to win it for his side.
