Kings Norton 34, Claverdon 14
KINGS Norton ended a run of three consecutive defeats to Claverdon after a comprehensive 34-14 win last Saturday.
The hosts took a 19-0 lead at the interval following tries from Gaz Johnson and another from captain Shane Rees.
Rees added a second conversion after smart work from Rob McGhee on the half-hour mark, initiating quick passing with Sam Back before sending Rees through to double his tally.
Second-half tries from Craig Hughes, Johnson and Mark Waudby extended Kings’ lead.
Claverdon grew in the second period yet Ben Boyce quashed any hopes of a late revival at Hopwood Park to score a final try and push Norton into a resounding 20-point lead.
Kings face second-bottom Coventrians next on Saturday and round off their Midlands Four West (South) season at home to Stoke Old Boys the following week.
