RESURGENT Studley continue their fine end to the season as two further wins cemented their mid-table spot in the Midlands Division One.

The Bees made it just one loss in five games with victories over Pelsall Villa and Racing Club Warwick.

On both occasions Studley’s never say die attitude was the difference as they scored late on in both matches.

Against Villa last Thursday, Dan Byford opened the scoring from the spot in the 85th minute and then pounced twice more to complete a dramatic hat-trick.

On Saturday, Robbie Bunn’s spectacular long range effort late on sealed a 1-0 victory in Warwickshire.

Manager Kevin Kingham said: “Once we scored our first goal against Pelsall the floodgates opened and it was great to see Dan get his hat-trick.

“Robbie Bunn scored a fantastic goal against Racing Club, from about 25 yards into the top corner.”

With Studley well-placed in 12th spot, it’s a far cry from last season when they went through a host of managers.

Kingham, who had initially joined as joint boss alongside Adrian Mander, was left with just three players when his managerial partner left because of work reasons.

He said: “We’ve come along way in a very short space of time.

“When Adrian left we lost 14 players and I needed to find players just to fulfil fixtures to see us out.

“This has been a season of transition and we’ve only kept one player from last season.

“But I have been so pleased with the effort of the lads, we’ve got better as the season has gone.

“The target was always mid-table so we’re going in the right direction.”
