NORTHFIELD Athletic secured their first final appearance of the season after they beat Bartley Green Illey Sunday (BGIS) 4-1 in the Bromsgrove and District League Division One Cup.

With both sides under strength to an extent, Connor Collins put the home side ahead after 20 minutes to give BGIS a 1-0 interval lead.

But a stunning second-half recovery ensued, which saw Jason Cowley net a hat-trick and one for Josh Moore, with the last three goals coming in the final eight minutes.

Meanwhile, Meadow Park dumped VBG Fairfield out of the WA Harris Cup at the second-round stage after they bridged a two-division gap to stun the favourites 3-2.

The last two goals came inside a crazy final five minutes to overturn a 2-1 deficit.

Shaun May and an own goal scored for VBG, while Sam Wright (2) and Ben Stanford — against his old club — netted for Meadow.

The game also saw Meadow manager Paul Hutchins take to the field as the visitors struggled to get a full side together with the likes of Sean Chance and Craig Barnett missing.

Meadow now host BGIS next in the quarter final.
