Alcester 35, Birmingham Civil Service 6
ALCESTER recorded their second league double to move up to fifth in the Midlands Division Four West (South) table with a bonus-point victory against the bottom club.
The only blot on a good day was the serious ankle injury to replacement back rower Elliott Evans, who dislocated a joint and required surgery.
Birmingham opened the scoring with a penalty but Alcester roared back and lead 15-6 by half-time thanks to tries from Ben Hope and Lewis Walker and a Sam Smith conversion.
George Green scored the first try of the second half from close range, before his brother, skipper Jack Green, secured the bonus point with a fourth score.
After a delay for Evans' injury, Hope bagged his second try, before Robbie Parker jinked his way through to round off the scoring with a trademark finish.
The game was refereed well throughout by Warwickshire junior whistler and Claverdon member Harvey Knight.
Alcester go to Claverdon on Saturday (2.15pm ko).
