THERE’S still time to vote for Redditch and Alcester Advertiser’s Sports Personality of the Year.

With the deadline for our online ballot at midnight on Friday, readers can still have their say on the outcome.

Speed skater Charlotte Gilmartin leads the way, with Libby Smith and Greg Smith not to far behind.

Andy Robinson and Beth Crumpton are also still in the running.

Redditch cycling star Crumpton has enjoyed a sensational year in the saddle.

She has won a host of titles, including Elite Women’s category in the British Cycling MTB Cross-Country Series.

Crumpton also won the under-23s British Cross Country Championship for the third year in a row.

Teenager Smith confirmed her position as one of the country’s top young BMX prospects by winning the British Championships for the first time ever. The 14-year-old, a student at RSA Academy Arrowvale, also topped the British BMX Series after a fine season.

Boxer Robinson’s impressive professional career hit a high point in 2015 when he secured the Midlands super middleweight title by defeating Ilkeston’s Prince Davis in Wolverhampton in June, as he continued his unbeaten run since leaving the amateur ranks.

Speed skater Gilmartin has bookended 2015 with silverware.

She started the year by sealing silvers in the 1,500-metre and 500m at the British Short Track Championships.

But Gilmartin then topped that success in December by winning her inaugural international medal at the Fourth ISU World Cup event in Shanghai, clinching 1,500m bronze.

Finally, Alvechurch bowler Greg Smith has had an impressive year on the greens.

He became the first person since 1924 to win the Autumn Waterloo and Talbot Cup competitions and also clinched the Midlands Masters in Nuneaton.
