BROMSGROVE Ladies ran out comfortable 4-0 winners over local rivals Redditch on Saturday.

What normally turns out to be a tough local clash turned out to be a damp squib as Bromsgrove dominated their local rivals and came out very comfortable winners.

They took an early lead when Laura Underhill's shot deceived the Redditch goalkeeper.

Continued pressure resulted in another goal when Tricky Burton shot home from mid way into the shooting area.

Despite the 2-0 lead, Redditch came back into the game as Bromsgrove lost their shape as they pursued further goals.

However, they settled down again and went further ahead early in the second half when Stacey Nash forced the ball home from close range.

Bromsgrove were queuing up to score but the Redditch goalkeeper was in fine form and kept them out until Lily Alsop added a fourth.

"This was another good performance from the team despite missing two regular starters," said coach Alan Gormley.

"The conditions were appalling but the girls stuck to their task really well.

"It is hard to be critical when you win 4-0, however, we do need to be more clinical in front of goal."

The seconds got the better of Harborne fourths 6-0, with goals for Lisa Smiley (3), Kate Spolton, Nikki Breakwell andVicky Powell.

The thirds lost to Stourport fourths 2-1, despite a Clare Rippin goal.
