LAURA Dangerfield was in excellent form at the Masters and Senior High Grades tournament.
The Redditch fighter was part of a squad from Samurai Judo Club who took part.
There were some old and some newer faces at the British Judo Olympic Training Centre at Walsall.
The competition attracted entries from all over Britain.
Dangerfield was competing in the women’s second level black belt and above category.
She did well to win contests by maximum points against a fourth level black belt from London and a third level black belt from Plymouth to reach the semi-final, where she came up against clubmate Sarah Newbury.
Newbury remained unstoppable, by winning the semi-final by two high-score throws to face an extremely good player from Nottingham in the final, while Dangerfield had to settle for bronze.
Dangerfield’s victor then went onto secure gold after a dominant display.
