ALVECHURCH manager Ian Long believes his players won't be fazed by their lengthy trip to Wisbech in the FA Vase on Saturday (3pm ko).

The Lye Meadow outfit face a 250 mile round trip to the Cambridgeshire side.

But Long is sure his squad, many of who were with him at Tividale in the Northern Premier League Division One South last season, will not be affected by the long away trip.

He said: "We did a lot of travelling last season at Tividale so we should be used to it.

"We're doing things properly and we've organised a meal before the game.

"Hopefully we can go there and get a result, even getting draw would be okay because I don't think they would enjoy playing at Lye Meadow.

"But it's not going to be an easy game, Wisbech are a decent side."

Wisbech defeated Rothwell Corinthians on Saturday to record their first win in the United Counties League since September 5.

Church may have a number of defensive concerns ahead of the game, with Mark Smith set to miss out because of a groin injury.

Luke Paskin also has a knock, while striker Jordan Nadat is also cup tied Meanwhile, Church continued their excellent unbeaten run with the biggest win of the season when they defeated Midlands Premier basement boys Continental Star 8-0 on Saturday.

Karl Edwards and Connor Deards both bagged braces while Nadat grabbed a hat-trick, Jack Cresswell also hit the back of the net.

Long said: "We could have scored more goals because Continental are not a very good side at the moment.

"We had done some work on finishing in training and you could see it paying off."
