ALCESTER School of Boxing’s Luke Stanley scored a second-round knockout over Harry Smith on his debut at the Stanley Street Sports and Social Club in Worksop last Thursday.
Stanley took control of the bout from the opening bell, throwing fast jabs and hurt - ing his opponent with heavy body punches.
With only 20 seconds remaining in the first round, the Alcester Academy stu - dent threw a terrific three- punch combination which rocked his opponent, forcing the referee to give a standing eight count.
In round two, Stanley con tinued to dominate and early on a right hook, left cross combo wobbled Smith and the referee intervened.
Stanley was declared winner by technical knock out.
Alcester School of Boxing is based at the Alcester Youth Club, St Faiths Road and offers a beginners boxing class for young people aged seven and above on Mondays and Wednesdays between 4.30pm and 5.30pm.
