Coventry Welsh 14, Redditch 10
REDDITCH staged a second-half fight back to earn a bonus point in Midlands Division Four West (South).
With Coventry hosting their President’s day, they knew they were in for a tough game.
The hosts powered into a 14-0 lead after bagging two converted tries.
But Redditch found a new lease of life and after Oliver Stokes ran the length of the field to score under the post, James Mills adding the extras.
In the second half, the Kingfishers started well and even though they were playing up the slope, Coventry Welsh could not find any opening.
The visitors attacked and defended well through out the half and were award a penalty with ten minutes to go.
Mills stepped up to get the points but Welsh defended their line very well and Redditch could not find that opening to win it them the game.
For the second game this season, Mills was named man of the match for a second time this term, while Bryn Williams put in a great running display.
Redditch host are at home this week in a friendly against Malvern Seconds in a friendly this weekend, while the development squad face will be hoping to continue their good form at home to Bromyard in Merit League.
