STUDLEY made a winning start to Midlands Division One as they got the better of Bolehall Swifts 3-1 on Saturday.

The Bees had fallen behind to a Jarol Blake strike early in the second half but they raised their game.

Dave Edwards finished from close range after Swifts had failed to clear a corner and the hosts had seen two efforts blocked.

Daniel Stokes headed in a second from another set-piece, while Jarrel Hylton bagged a third in the final ten minutes to seal all three points.

Manager Kevin Kingham has worked very hard this summer to completely rebuild the side, with Gary Joynes the only surviving player from last season.

He said: "It's early days yet and we're a very new group so the lads are still settling in but it was a good start."

Studley, who go to Pershore on Tuesday, then take on Kingham's former side Nuneaton Griff at home this weekend (3pm ko).

Griff are managed by Charlie Reardon, who played for Kingham when he was joint manager at the Pingles Stadium three years ago.
