ALCESTER had a successful week with wins for four out of their six sides.
The A team romped to a 48-shot triumph over Hockley Heath B in the Birmingham League Division Seven.
In the same division, Alcester B visited Olton Tavern B and earned 10 points in an 11-shot win.
Eric Allport was again outstanding at 21-7, with good support from Christine Anderson (21-10) and John Williamson (21-14) and David Hodgson (21-19).
Hall Green A were Alcester A’s visitors in Division One of the Yardley Wood League.
This brought a closely fought 12-shot victory for the home team, with winning cards for David Whittington (21-11), Ken Harvey (21-13), John Slater (21-17) and Renny and Jean Bannister (both 21-20).
Alcester suffered their first setback of the week in Division Three, when a visit by the B team to King George VI A gave little cause for joy.
Cup action in the Heart of England League saw Alcester A progress past Bournville Sports to round three of the main competition, while in round one of the Consolation Cup the B team were unlucky to lose to King George V by a mere 2 shots.
