ALCESTER A found home side Woodbourne in fine form as they suffered a 60-shot defeat in Division One of the Yardley Wood Bowls League.
The visitors could only muster a single winning card, with Dave Hovell producing a 21-15 success to give Alcester a single point against nine for the home side.
In the Heart of England Over-60s League, Alcester A enjoyed a 40-shot success in Division One at the expense of visitors Green Man A.
Superb victories from captain John Slater (21-8) and Ken Harvey (21-9) lead the way, with solid support from Margaret D’Elia and Carole Slater (both 21-14) and Jean Bannister (21-15).
Alcester accrued 15 league points against one for the visitors.
With one player short, Alcester B travelled to Central Edgbaston B with little hope of winning in Division Five.
The hosts were in control and won by 43 shots. Eric Allport saved Alcester’s blushes with an excellent 21-12 card on a green which he had never even seen before.
