LEE Knight wants Alvechurch's strikers to step up their goal-scoring efforts.

Church continue to frustrate the manager after scoring just twice in the last four games.

Connor Deards rescued a point at the weekend as they drew 1-1 at Loughborough University.

Deards has 11 goals in the Midlands Premier, while Gareth Evans has plundered 15 and Alvechurch's top scorer.

"Connor could have taken the ball home on Saturday we created so many chances," lamented Knight.

"We are creating lots of chances but we are not testing the goalkeepers.

"It's not just about the strikers, it's about the attacking midfielders and defenders as well.

"But we try to send out strikers to score goals and I want Gareth or Conor to dominate a game.

"We're in a position where we can switch things around and have a look at different combinations to see if they click."

Church, who were set to play Heath Hayes on Tuesday night, take on Tipton Town at home on Saturday, who are bottom of the table, and then go to Coventry Sphinx on Monday (both games 3pm ko).

Knight added: "It doesn't matter if you play teams at the top or the bottom, any team is capable of winning on their day so we have to play well."
