REDDITCH put on a fine display of attacking rugby to beat lowly Coventrians.

The Kingfishers put in a good performance to dispose of their visitors 48-3 last Saturday.

The interplay between forwards and backs was an improvement on recent weeks, which led to numerous phases of play and opportunities to get in behind the defence.

Dave Ingram made his return to the Redditch ranks and scored the first try down the right flank after some early pressure.

His commitment around the park helped in defence and attack and he was awarded man of the match for his efforts against a Coventrians side currently sitting in the relegation places.

A mistake in the Coventrians attack led to the second score as an over ambitious pass hit the ground and was hacked through. Edwin Grey picked up the bobbling ball and fed Jack Fairhurst inside for a 60 metre sprint under the posts.

Ben Stanyard continued his rich vein of form with a hat-trick of tries either side of half time to seal a bonus point.

Despite a few problems in the lineout and at the back of the scrum, Redditch continued to play some excellent rugby in the loose. This led to gaps appearing around the rucks and Stanyard is making a habit of sniping through a gap and getting on the score sheet.

Redditch didn’t dip in the second period and continued to press for points. Both wingers Oliver Stokes and Edwin Grey got a score apiece down the right wing and Gareth Davies finished proceedings by reacting quickest to be on hand following a quick tap penalty.

Redditch have cemented themselves in mid table and after a poor start to the season find themselves only one win and a bonus point from second place.

They will travel to take on Coventry Welsh this Saturday in the search of more points.
