THERE was blood, sweat and gears at Redditch Motorcycle Club’s annual Terry Cup Christmas Pudding Trial on Sunday.

Over 100 riders from all over the UK descended on Davis’s Yard in Astwood Bank for the event, which started at 9am.

Churchill pro expert rider Steve Harris recovered well from a poor start.

He had failed the first section of the day but went on to take a creditable eightth place with a loss of 81 marks lost.

In the competitive master class, Adam Cope from Webheath on his Spanish 300cc Gas Gas finished just inside the top 15 with a loss of 52 points.

Walkwod’s Ian Strudley, who is an improving rider and one to watch in 2015, finished just behind Cope with a loss of 67 marks.

Mick Bowers, the ex-motorcycle shop owner from Studley, made a welcome return to the Midlands to ride in the event he last competed in over 30 years ago.

The event was won by British championship contender Ross Danby from Bewdley.

Danby rides for Redditch MCC on a Jotagas and made light work of the 38 sections finishing on 22 marks.
