STUDLEY are flying high in the Midland League Division One after beating Nuneaton Griff 2-1 on Saturday.

The strike force of Matt Bailey and Josh McKenzie plundered goals after the Bees fell a goal down.

The pair have scored 37 goals between them, with Bailey bagging 19 for Studley and AFC Hinckley and McKenzie hitting 18 for them and Bromsgrove.

Now the Warwickshire outfit are six points behind leaders AFC Highgate United although they have played one game more.

Joint manager Kevin Kingham said: "Matt and Josh are oozing with confidence at the moment and it's great to see them scoring goals.

"It's down the team because they are creating chances for them but they are tucking them away.

"To be honest, the turning point came when we brought on Darius Darkin and Stefan Abonandi and they gave us extra energy and pushed us up the pitch.

"We're in a good league position and I definitely think we'll be involved with the title race come the end of the season."

Studley were set to play Malvern in the Worcestershire Senior Urn on Tuesday night.

They have no game at the weekend because of Pershore's League Cup game against Southam on Saturday and their next clash is at home to struggling Alvis Sporting on December 20.
