REDDITCH youngster Luke Lattimer has followed in his grandfather’s footsteps by feeling the need for speed racing karts.

The 15-year-old won the National Kart Racing Association Formula Junior Blue UK Championship in September.

The event was held at Clay Pigeon Race Way in Dorset and saw the best karters from Scotland and England compete.

But it was the Holy Trinity High School pupil who won the outright title.

He is mentored by his grandfather Geoff, who used to race, and also follows the trail blazed by of his dad, Scott, who finished runner-up in the NKRA Formula Blue Senior class in the late 1990s.

He is now focused on the Formula Junior Blue South West Championship.
