REDDITCH made a strong start to the West Midlands Premier with a 6-2 win over West Bromwich.

Three first half goals from captain Dan Waite handed Redditch 3-0 lead at half-time.

Some poor decision making let West Brom back into the game early in the second half, bringing the score to 3-2.

But the Kingfishers didn’t crack and immediately restored a two-goal cushion with a goal from Pete Dawson.

The rout was completed with a fourth goal for Waite and one from Steve Cook.

On Saturday, Redditch face Market Drayton at home.

The seconds commenced their league campaign with a home defeat to West Brom.

Young Jo Cardy made his league debut in goal and even his heroics with some fantastic saves was not enough.

Redditch travel to Evesham on Saturday.

The thirds got the better of Market Drayton, with Adam Haslam and Barry Fitzpatrick on target.

Meanwhile, the Ladies were in fine form and got the better of Barford Tigers 7-1.

Ruth Waite bagged a hat-trick, while Nathalie Frisch, Anna Stafford (2) and Lindsay Morris also scored.

Redditch Badgers defeated Worcester 2-1.

The deadlock was broken in the 31st minute, when Redditch skipper Jake Porter finished a scramble.

Jack Drysdale doubled their lead and despite Worcester pulling one back they held on for victory.
