FECKENHAM eased their relegation battling woes in Worcestershire Division Two with a four-wicket win over fellow struggles Malvern on Saturday,

Their second victory of the season opened a small gap over the bottom two teams.

The bowlers proved to be the difference after they had won the toss and opted to put Malvern into bat.

Neil Evans (4-37), Matt Henning (3-44) and Peter Monk (3-44) took the wickets as they were dismissed for 170 in 48 overs.

Only Anthony Arnold (45) and Neil Thompson (42) got among the runs for Feckenham's rivals.

The Millers' reply suffered a setback when they lost Muhammad Idrees for a duck after being trapped lbw Thompson.

But Luke Jackson struck 77 runs off 121 balls, hitting 13 fours, and Josh Stacey (32) also made a good contribution as Feckenham reached 171-6 in the 48th over.

Feckenham take on Oldswinford and Stourbridge Social on Saturday (1pm start).

In Division Three, Nick Jones hit 105 as Alvechurch and Hopwood defeated Tenbury by 122 runs.

Jones and Adam Markham-Jones (73) helped to guide the home side to 261-4.

Tenbury were dismissed for 139, with John Pinsent bagging a six-wicket haul and Christian Battelley (30-3) in good form.

Alvechurch go to Aveley on Saturday (1pm start).
