Student beats the Trophy Standard

First published in Local Sport

A STUDENTS from schools in Redditch performed well at the Mason Trophy inter-counties regional tournament in Birmingham.

Jake Curtiss, who attends The Tudor Grange Academy, beat the English Schools’ Standard time by 0.1s in the intermediate boys 100 metres.

Overall the Hereford and Worcester Schools’ team improved on their points from last year to maintain its fifth place behind West Midlands, Staffordshire, Cheshire and Northamptonshire, beating Warwickshire, Greater Manchester, Shropshire and Nottinghamshire.

These results were helped massively by the junior boys, who ranked second overall in both the track and field events as well as the intermediate boys who also finished second on the track overall.
