A SELECT under-18s side from Exhall and Wixford are to host a game against Geelong College from Australia on Sunday.
The visitors are members of the Associated Public Schools Premier Division which they have won seven times, most recently in 2010-11, a record they are rightly proud of being the smallest Public School in the league.
The majority of matches in the competition are two day affairs which are played to a high standard on some of the best grounds in Victoria.
Among their former alumni are ex-Australian Captain Lindsay Hassett and Test players Paul Sheahan, Ian Redpath and Jack Iverson.
The author and occasional Times cricket writer Gideon Haigh is also a former pupil.
The match is 40 overs per side and begins at 2pm. All spectators are welcome for a fascinating afternoon.
