Holtham pleased with fine win

DEAN Holtham was pleased to see his side emerge triumphant from a thrilling 3-2 victory over Dunkirk in the Midland Alliance.
The Churchmen came from behind to bounce back from last week’s disappointing FA Cup exit at the hands of in-form Tividale.
Alvechurch had been trailing 1-0 at half-time with keeper Liam Maher making several fine saves.
Joe Wright levelled the scores from the spot.
Wright then fired the hosts ahead after a defensive mistake by Dunkirk but the visitors made it 2-2.
Maher was called into action with another fine save and Jamie Spencer bagged an 87th minute winner when he headed home from a Max Loveridge free-kick.
“I thought we played really well, particularly in the second half,” Holtham said.
“It was a bit tight when Dunkirk made it 2-2 and Liam Maher’s made several good saves.
“It was great to see us respond to losing to Tividale last week.”
Anthony Fitzmaurice looks set for a spell on the sidelines after injurying his ankle on Saturday.
Louis Wright is expected to be back soon despite being taken off with a knock at the weekend.
Alvechurch face a tough test at Tipton Town tonight (7.45pm ko) in the league.
With no involvement in the FA Cup this weekend, Alvechurch go to Rocester in the league (3pm ko).
