Well done to all students that took part in the grading on the 20th march 2010 this was a great day with a superb standard being shown from all students. Well done to callum Hadley and Anton Reid for picking up grading awards for their dedication and commitment to their Shotokan Training over the last 3 months. Anton has been only training 3 months and has not missed a lesson and showed great skills on his 1st grading. In this time he has supported the club at a competition and will hopefully be taking part in the next competition the Elite Kata competition at the end of April .Callum has also not missed a lesson this year and has entered 3 competitions this year and was placed in all events .Well done to all students’ great results

More good news for Furi Sutairu shotokan Redditch The furi sutairu squad took part in its third event of 2010 getting placed in many categories in this BOSS series .Ojus Rane took 3rd place in Kumite , Kyle Cudal took 3rd place in Kumite , Mhark Cudal took 2nd Place in Kumite and 2nd place in kata Emma Nash took 3rd place in kata and Perry McEwen took 1st place in weapons kata and Sensei Treadwell and Callum Hadley both took 1st place in Senior and Junior Individual Kata and both took part in team kata and again took 1st place .All competitors that took 1st places in this event are eligible for the world championships in November 2010 with members from furi sutairu having the chance to now compete at the event in Italy .Sensei Treadwell said all students always gift 100% at events we attend and are a credit to the club

Furi Sutairu shotokan carry on great start to 2010 Sensei Treadwell took his small army and they carried on where they left off last month with a new scalp in Peterborough on Sunday the 14th of Feb.The results are as follows Junior Kata Callum Hadley 4th place,3rd place to Ben jones and 2nd place to james Makin. Senior Kata 3rd place Emma Nash 2nd Place Perry Mcewan and 1st Place Sensei Dave Treadwell. Weapons kata 1st place Perry mcewan.Junior Boys Kumite (Sparring) Kyle Cudal 4th place and Mhark Cudal 3rd place.Girls kumite Jodie Treadwell 4th place and Ladies Kumite Emma Nash 3rd Place. Sensei Treadwell said that all students done great again at this event and on top of this it was an open event so had many styles of martial arts competing but all students shone in all areas of the competition. Hopefully all students will push in from this for the next event and carry this on to the march grading.

Furi Sutairu Shotokan Redditch entered the 1st 2010 Wuma National championships in worcester on sunday the 24th of january Sensei Treadwell and his students competed in individual kata,team kata,weapon kata and kumite and were well placed in all catogerys.Perry mcewan took 1st in weapons kata,james makin took 1st in junior kata and 1st in team kata ,callum hadley took 2nd in junior kata,Emma nash took 1st in team kata, Sensei Treadwell took 1st in team kata and 1st in Senior kata,Mhark cudal took 2nd in kumite and his younger brother Kyle done superb for this age in kumite in his 1st competition for Furi Sutairu and narrowly missed out on being placed . sensei Treadwell said he was extremely proud of all his students on this 1st event of 2010 . 1st picture left to right back row Perry mcewan,Sensei Dave Treadwell,james makin,Emma Nash left to right Front row Callum Hadley, Mark cudal , Kyle cudal 2nd picture mhark cudal and sensei treadwell

Furi sutairu karate had another great year in 2009 starting off in january January -Attended self defence course by master mark smith at Tokon do karate union head office essex January -Training session by 5th Dan Sensei Len Norman March- Club Grading April-Weapons Seminar April-Uma Kata Championships May-Budo international seminar June-Club grading July-Seminar TDKU July-Trainig Session Scorpion Karate August-Sensei Training Seminar September-TDKU Training Seminar Oct-Elite Kata competition Oct-Uma National Competition Nov-National Championships Nov-Squad Training Dec-Club Grading There are amny events in place already for 2010 for more info please contact Sensei Treadwell

Tokon Do Karate Union Squad Training Sensei Treadwell took a group of students to the TDKU Headquarters in Essex on the 29th of November to get the group working together for events in 2010.The group included James Makin 2nd Kyu, Emma Nash 1st Kyu, Jodie Treadwell 3rd kyu and Callum Hadley 8th kyu.The group was taken through its paces by Chairman Sensei Len Norman. This included working on timing work some jujitsu work to get warmed up by one of Tokon do students Chris Dock rill. From here the session went onto kata work including Khion Kata, Bassi Dai, Sochin and a Tokon Do kata .Finally the 2 hour session finished with some Dan grading line work before the 3 hour journey back to Redditch.The next Squad training session will be held in Febuary 2010 at Furi Sutairu Shotokan Club Redditch.

Students from Furi sutairu shotokan took part in the UMA national Championships in stoke. The day was a great sucsess with all taking part doing the club extremely proud. It saw students as young as 7 taking part with Benjamin Jones competing in his 1st kata competition. Callum Hadley,Tiffany Lawley and Jodie Treadwell took 3RD place in team kata, Jodie Treadwell took 2nd in individual kata ,Shannon Fisher took 3Rrd in kata and James Makin took 2nd in Kata and 1st in Kumite .Well done to all students as this was a 1st in this mixed karate event and all students have done the club proud.

Sensei Treadwell and students callum Hadley and James Makin took oart in this shotokan karate championship in oldham on sunday the 11th oct 2009 takining part in kata.The competition was well supported with all catogeries having at least 30 entries in.This was a great competition to compete and watch with some great shotokan karate on display.James makin and sensei treadwell came within 0.1 of a piont at beining placed in the team event also with young callum hadley who has only been traning six months and 11 years of age also performing suprerb in his 1st taste of competitions

Sensei Treadwell and students from furi sutairu shotokan karate academy redditch travelled down to the associations head quarters in essex to take part in a training seminar. along with sensei treadwell james makin,matt hassett emma nash jodie treadwell steve fisher callum hadley and sarah phillps made the journey. All students trained for 45 minutes with instructors from various clubs so all furi sutairu students trained for 45mins with their own sensei treadwell and then 2 other sensei from other clubs.After this students from all clubs were asked to perform a demonstration which included breaking/conditioning and kata .With all students from FSKA redditch performing a kata demonstration.
