Knight: We must take loss on chin

LEE Knight has promised not to make any wholesale changes at Studley despite their 7-0 thrashing from Tividale this week in the Midland Alliance.

The Studley mananger maintained: “We were the better side for the first 20 minutes and were well on top but didn’t take our chances.

“To be honest, I didn’t see it coming. We played the same shape and system which has served us really well recently – but once they scored there was no stopping them.

“It wouldn’t have mattered who they were playing because three of four of their goals were unstoppable. It was a bit of a freak result and you just have to take it on the chin.

“However, I still have confidence in the players I’ve already got and I won’t be rushing out to bring anyone in.”

Knight will recall Nathan Edgington who was suspended for the Tividale game along with Michael Batchelor, who has been out on loan with Midland Combination side Earlswood after recovering from a back injury for this Saturday’s Alliance trip to Loughborough University.

Knight added: “We just have to roll our sleeves up and make sure we’re not involved in another freak result, unless of course, our opponents are on the receiving end of it.”
