Town braced for regional BMX finals

REDDITCH is braced for demonstration of spectacular two-wheeled action on Sunday when the Midland BMX Championships come to town.

The best riders from across the region will descend on the track at Icknield Street Drive, Matchborough West, in a tournament hosted by Redditch Premiers Club.

Riders have competed at BMX tracks all over the Midlands this summer to gain their place in the finals.

As well as seeing some of the best talent in the country riding there will also be novice races which will give a chance for up and coming local talent their first time racing on the track.

There will be stalls and attractions to accompany a great days racing and Olympic Torch bearer Glenn Scott will also be present taking photos to help raise funds for Redditch Premiers.

The doors open at the venue at 8.30am with the racing commencing at 12.30pm.

Redditch Premiers manage the all new leading international standard floodlit BMX track.

The club works in partnership with British Cycling, Redditch Borough Council and Redditch Wheels Project to provide opportunities for anyone interested in becoming involved in BMX Racing. The club stage coaching, club races regional and national races.

The club is also actively racing and competing in competetions on the regional and national circuit.
