Redditch suffer another setback

REDDITCH’S difficult start to the season in the Midlands Three West (South) continued as they lost 37-17 at the hands of Old Wheatleyans.

The Kingfishers have endured a very tough beginning to the campaign, facing two of the pacesetters in their first three fixtures.

They narrowly lost to leaders Old Coventrians 38-31 on the opening day and but then went down 44-7 to Old Leamingtonians, who are currently third.

Wheatleyans then picked up their first win of the season by seeing off Redditch.

That leaves the Bromsgrove Road-based side bottom of the table with just two bonus points, although there is plenty of time for them to find their form.

Head coach Dave Hitchen will be hoping they can ignite their season at home to Woodrush on Saturday (3pm).
