Prices reduced for friendlies

REDDITCH United have reduced admission prices for their two forthcoming friendly games at The Valley.

Admission to the games with Kings Lynn next Tuesday and Keterring Town on Tuesday July 28, will be £5 for adults, £3 concessions (including students with a valid NUS card) and £1 for under 16s.

Both games kick off at 7.45pm.

Meanwhile United returned for pre-season training on Saturday with boss Gary Whild praising the influence of assistant Micky Moore.

Moore has been taking the bulk of the training – involving around 30 players – so far and Whild commented on his influence.

He said: “Micky has definitely put his mark on training. He has a UEFA A licence and at this level you can’t really get much better than that.

“Plus he knows the club and some of the players already here.

“We did a four hour training session on Saturday with a break in the middle because fitness is going to be very important to us over a long season.”

Redditch are back in action next Tuesday night when former assistant boss Carl Heggs brings his new look Kings Lynn team to the Valley for a pre-season friendly (7.45pm).

The Reds will start their Blue Square North season at home to Stalybridge Cletic on Saturday August 8 before travelling to Ilkeston Town on Tuesday August 11.

Whild said: “We have quite a tough start, with the third game being a long trip away to Blyth but at least we can get that over quick and hopefully it won’t be rained off again when we get there.”
